Samantha's T-Shirt Quilt - UF Sigma Kappa

As Samantha headed into her Senior year of college, we started talking about making a t-shirt quilt as a keepsake reminder of her years at University of Florida in the Sigma Kappa sorority.  Here is the finished product.

Handmade Box

Several years ago, while also dabbling with handmade books, I made this box that I have used quite a bit for storing my most-used scrap-booking supplies.

Tie Quilt for Mom

When my sister and I discovered that our Mother had saved her father's ties, disassembled them, and was using them for crazy quilting, we were inspired to make this quilt that included some of the fabric from these ties.  It was a gift to her, probably for Mother's Day or her birthday.

Seminole Patchwork for Beth

Too many years ago to even remember, I made this wall quilt for my sister.  It's the first introduction I had to Strip Piecing, in this case, making Seminole Patchwork.

Perfect Pieced Circles

Today I tried out a technique I've seen others use for making a pieced circle block. My first attempt was not so great, but my second attempt was almost perfect!

Disappearing Four Patch - Tyler & Maranda's Quilt

I think one of the hardest things to do is to make a quilt that is neither too masculine nor too feminine.  This Disappearing Four Patch pattern along with the nice combination of colors in this quilt does a pretty good job of coming in middle of the road.

Gordian Knot Quilt - The Challenge

Fascinated by the challenge of making this adaptation of the celtic knot, I couldn't let this go until I reverse engineered the process and completed the assembly.

Modern Take on Road to Oklahoma - Logan's Quilt

The Road to Oklahoma quilt options can create a wide variety of finished products, but I chose to stick with four fabrics to end up with a more modern take on this traditional quilt pattern.

Sunprint Fun - Michelle's Quilt

I've always been intrigued with the Sunprint (more formally known as cyanotype) technique, particularly on fabric. This quilt is one I made for my niece; it incorporates squares that I "sun printed" with elements from the border fabric.

Coptic Bound Handmade Book - Green Floral

Several years ago, my sister and I attended a book making workshop taught by Daniel Essig.  If you've never seen his work, I encourage you seek out his website; his sculptural books are like nothing you've ever seen.

After taking his class, and walking away with a very satisfying wooden coptic book, I wanted to make another book to help reinforce my learning.  This is the first book I made after that class.

Kaleidoscope Scrap Quilt

While I've dipped into my fabric stash for many projects before, this is officially my first scrap quilt.  It is made up of the Kaleidoscope quilt block.

This quilt was a gift for my niece in honor of her college graduation.  It was started by my mother, her grandmother, many years before.

My First Quilt - Lady of the Lake

I am immensely proud of the first quilt I ever made.

It was back in the 1980's and probably took be about 6-9 months to complete.
