Several years ago, while also dabbling with handmade books, I made this box that I have used quite a bit for storing my most-used scrap-booking supplies.

When my sister and I discovered that our Mother had saved her father's ties, disassembled them, and was using them for crazy quilting, we were inspired to make this quilt that included some of the fabric from these ties.  It was a gift to her, probably for Mother's Day or her birthday.

Today I tried out a technique I've seen others use for making a pieced circle block. My first attempt was not so great, but my second attempt was almost perfect!
