Farmer's Wife - Week 3 - Our Blocks - Part 1

We are in agreement about Week 3 of our Farmer's Wife Quilt Along; one was fairly easy and the other was more difficult.  This week we worked on Block 34, Flock, and Block 49, Night & Day. Both blocks were created using foundation paper piecing.

Read on to see our versions of these blocks and hear about our experience.

Well, Beth had a rotary cutter mishap this week - ouch! - and hasn't finished hers quite yet.  The amazing thing is that she was able to continue with her pianist commitments during the week, even though she couldn't use one finger.  By today, she's feeling better and should be back into the Quilt Along, although, with some catch-up to do!

For Block 34, Flock, the biggest issue is getting those points correct and ironing the seam allowances so there isn't too much bulk.  Otherwise, this block went together pretty easily.

Block 49, Night & Day, was a challenge.  I chose to just power through and get it done, but I'm not too thrilled with my finished block.  If I get to the end and decide it's too wrong to use, I'll make another one.  I was completely unsuccessful in getting the white and yellow sections to line up properly.
