I completed my fourth round, cog, rosette (whatever you want to call it) for the La Passacaglia quilt.
Continuing in my quest to complete this ingenious pattern using English Paper Piecing, I'm finding the fussy cutting to be the most tedious. I think I need to spend less time worrying about where to cut and just cut from the same place in the fabric pattern and let serendipity happen.

La Passacaglia - My Fourth Round |
Here you can see how they are all coming together. I've started more center pieces in an attempt to make sure I'm spreading color around judiciously, so there should be several more rounds coming in quick succession.

La Passacaglia Quilt - Four rounds complete |
Here is one situation you might be interested to see. I fussy cut the five diamonds for the center of a round and tried the different arrangements. I didn't have a particular favorite, but it's interesting to see how different that star looks with the diamonds flip-flopped. Sometimes what you think you'll like better is actually the least interesting. (By the way, I went with the second one.)
