Block 9, Box
This is a 9-patch block, one solid block for the center and eight half-square triangle (HSTs) blocks. The HSTs are created using the tutorial we've used quite a bit so far, found here. To start you'll need to cut the following:
- Four 3 inch squares in white
- Four 3 inch squares in green
- One 2 1/2 inch square in blue (for the center)

Block 12, Broken Sugar Bowl
This block is a bit more complicated, only because it has so many different types of blocks. I see this as a 9-patch block (similar to Box above); two are solid, four are HSTs, and three are mini 4-patch blocks.
The easiest blocks are the two solid blocks. Simply cut two 2 1/2 inch squares from blue fabric.
Next, make four green and white HSTs, just like in Box above. Start with two 3 inch green squares and two 3 inch white squares; using the tutorial above, make four HSTs. Be sure to trim them each to 2 1/2 inches square.
The three 4-patch blocks are made with 1 1/2 inch squares (they'll be 1 inch squares once assembled). If your color arrangement is the same as mine, you'll need four red squares, four white squares, and four green squares. Two of the blocks are made with two white squares, one red square and one green square. The third block is made of two green and two red squares.
At this point, you should have nine 2 1/2 inch squares. Once sewn together, you'll have the block below!

Block 104, Wild Geese
This block is assembled mostly using foundation paper piecing. I say this because the center block is an hourglass block that is made using my instructions below. (I'm not using the tutorial we've used before because it makes two hourglass blocks, but we only need one here.) The remaining part of the block is made with four foundation pieced sections using the template you can download here.
To make the center hourglass block, start with one green and one blue 3 inch squares. Cut each square diagonally in half so you have two triangles in each color. Assemble them into the hourglass block. I recommend marking the wrong side of the block with stitching lines (pencil will be fine) that will ensure your block will be 2 1/8 inches square once sewn to the other sections. See these instructional images for an example.

Next, make the foundation pieced sections. Finally, assemble the parts to make the block below.
I'm not sure I like how much yellow is in my sample block, so I may switch it up a little when I make mine (perhaps switch the yellow with the blue/green in each of the corners).
