I set aside the Blue & White Sampler project but I never posted the first of my four inch blocks, so here they are. In case you are wondering, I've been working on the
La Pasacaglia Quilt (now being quilted!), the
Elephant Splash Baby Quilt (completed and delivered!), and the
Pinwheels & Windmills quilt (also, completed and delivered!)
There are five 4-inch blocks, two are improv log-cabin-ish and three are traditional blocks.

Improv Blocks
The improv blocks were inspired by the little bits and strips of fabric I had in a pile left over from the larger blocks, as well as my
scrappy blocks I've been making. I'm OK with them, but not sure they'll make it into the final quilt. They are a little wonky, which is what I was going for, but the other blocks are all so balanced and structured I'm not sure they'll look right.

The three traditional blocks below I found in the book,
501 Quilt Blocks. I made some blocks in the book years ago and bound them into
a book!
Geometry
The colors are so close in value that I think maybe the idea gets a little lost, but I still like it.

Old Maid's Puzzle
I love this one! Those little white triangles are too cute.

Dutchman's Puzzle
This was fun using the
no-waste flying geese piecing method because I needed exactly 4 of each color.

You can see all of the larger blocks and some of the layout progress in my previous
Blue & White Sampler posts.
